Baby Myths...finding the truth.

Myth: Pregnancy is 9 months long
Truth: It is closer to 10 months long. A due date is not an absolute.

Myth: Having sex during pregnancy can harm the baby.
Truth: Sex during pregnancy is safe and will not injure the baby's head or body.

Myth: A fast heartbeat means the baby is a girl
Truth: Girls can have slow heartbeats and boys can have fast heartbeats.
Each baby is unique.

Myth: You'll go into labor as soon as you lose your mucus plug.
Truth: Good try. No.

Other Myths that aren't quite true:

You can tell the sex of your unborn baby by the height of your belly.
Boys sit higher in the womb than girls do.
More babies are born during full moons.
For each child you give birth to, you will lose a tooth.
Heartburn during pregnancy means your baby will have lots of hair.
All pregnant women have unusual cravings, like pickles and ice cream.
